What Claire Ate: April 21st, 2015

I began the day with Diet Coke and ramen, which is a good way to begin a day.

Later that evening, I met my friend Kate for happy hour at Trifecta, and we ate and drank all of the things.

Then we went to Double Dragon (duh) and had some cocktails. Kate’s lovely husband showed up and I ate some of his rice bowl.

What Claire Ate: April 28th, 2015

Recently, my diet has consisted of dairy, bread, and alcohol. Tuesday was the epitome of this lifestyle.

Breakfast was cheese, followed by bread with labneh, and a coffee.

I wrote some things, mades some lists, and bought some ingredients. Then I got ready to go with Lisa to a networking thing at Trifecta.

We stopped for a coffee on the way.

At Heart.

At Trifecta, I ordered a Negroni.

Classic.

Classic.

Because I had only eaten bread and cheese so far, the cocktail went to my head very quickly.

I fixed it by ordering more bread and cheese.

The pastry chef then sent out ice cream because Lisa was there and Lisa is very important and influential.

Sorghum, butter pecan, and snickerdoodle.

All were delicious but the sorghum was triumphant.

Then we went and had more cocktails.

Then I walked Lisa back to her car and waited for Sean to come home.

I made some ramen while I was waiting.

Sean was kind of bummed he missed all the cocktails, so I took him out for another one.

I also had another one.

Then I died.

Then I arose to make a sandwich out of the last bit of (pretty much stale) bread, butter, and brie.

Then I really died.

What Claire Ate: February 5th, 2015

Thursday was strange. I did not eat breakfast. I didn’t eat anything before 3 PM, and instead drank several cups of coffee, none of which I took a picture of.

When I finally did eat, it was kind of gross.

Fortunately, the day got a lot better (food-wise).

REDACTED and I decided to go to the Portland Chef’s Week opening party, but first we had dinner at Trifecta.

A martini in very unwieldy martini glass.

After that, I suggested we make one more stop before heading downtown. That stop was Katchka, because I needed some horseradish vodka.

GLOOOORY BEEEEEE!

That was chased with some of the best pickle brine I have ever had. (Green tomato.)

Bless.

After that, we finally headed to the Chef’s Week party. I never did get a drink, even thought the Savage Gardener-looking bartender made eye contact with me about 9 times. After being actively ignored for close to 8 minutes, we left and went to play tabletop shuffleboard at a different bar.

I had a gin and soda, but didn’t take a pic of it because I was too busy playing tabletop shuffleboard. (I’m guessing.)

THE END.
