What Claire Ate: April 19th, 2016

I don’t quite believe the photos from this day, but here they are. According to the evidence, I actually ate three times in one day.

“Brunch” was a pork belly sandwich from Double Dragon.

I’m sure a Diet Coke was involved as well.

Later that afternoon/evening, I went back to Blackbird Pizza and had another on of their Pizza Week slices. My friend Chris had one too.

So I had one of these.

IMG_0464

More gin tbh

Later that evening, I made some soup for Recipe of the Week on xoJane, and then ate some of it.

There is a poached egg in there.

It looks like I had at least one Cynar and soda too, but I bet it was more than one.

IMG_0467

These were eaten.

Then there’s just a pic of a jar of pickles. I’m going to guess that means I drank some pickle juice, because I do that a lot.

The End.

Monday’s breakfast was coffee.

Consumed at the desk, naturally.

Lunch/Brunch was the meal I made for Recipe of the Week, biscuits and gravy.

I wrote some things and made some pound cakes, then headed over to Lisa’s for soup night.

Delicious soup, salad, and wine.

Wednesday was bread testing day. You can see the results here.

I ate some of each of the breads, but the first thing I ate was handfuls of shredded cheese.

A couple of these bad boys.

Two of these.

Two of these.

Not pictured: little bites of that brown bread.

My back was hurting a little bit from baking all day and I was in a pretty terrible mood, so I walked down to a restorative yoga class.

After getting back from that, I made my self a nice, big salad and a weird, ugly “soup.”

Greens, olive oil, lemon, parm.

Greens, olive oil, lemon, parm.

The soup was basically that weird rice I had made on Monday, heated up in vegetable broth. The purple rice turned the broth a weird color, but it tasted pretty good.

Hideous.

Hideous.

Then I ate some chocolate, watched Friends, and went to bed.

What Claire Ate: March 26th, 2015

So we have a bit of a backlog here. I don’t even remember what happened on Thursday, so let’s consult the pictures.

Current obsession

Oh that’s right. I didn’t eat breakfast or anything but we did get for Chinese for lunch. I started with the egg flower soup (above).

As an entree, I had the dry-fried green beans and veg fried rice.

So many beans!

So many beans!

There were some leftovers tbh.

I spent most of the afternoon tasting and photographing candy. (Coming soon to xoJane.)

After that, I ate some more green beans.

I┬áspent the rest of the afternoon writing the review until the words would no longer flow. Then I went to Trader Joe’s and bought some things and stuff.

What Claire Ate: November 11th, 2014

This will be my last WCA for three days, because reviews and such.

Anyway.

I had some green tea (not pictured) and had these delicious tuna rolls from Whole Foods.

Surprisingly filling.

Surprisingly filling.

Here’s a close up:

mmmmmm

mmmmmm

I know we’re going to eat delicious soup at a friend’s house, so I don’t eat much else for the rest of the day.

I do have a cookie butter cup, though.

So good.

So good.

We bring a broccoli salad and a bottle of Underwood Pinot and I’m so excited to eat hot soup (it’s freezing out) that I forget to take any photos until I am good and drunk. As a result, the photos are mostly of leftovers, but believe me when I say that the soup was really effing delicious.

Pozole!

Then we traveled to Mississippi Pizza for karaoke (the selection was amazing). I drank three moscow mules and sang “Dead Flowers.”

Eating, Health

I MADE GOOD CHOICES.

BE PROUD OF ME.

The good choice was made at the end of the day. We will get there.

But first…

I quit the whole “eating breakfast like a grownup thing”…I mean really, who has the time?

Breakfast of the irresponsible.

Lunch was weird.

Not great looking.

Yeah…that’s tomato soup with babybell cheese in it.

Pretzel crackers…only the best thing ever invented.

Then a co-worker made me eat these.

There were 5, originally.

Then I went and bought the most comfortable running pants in the world.

Then Sean was all: “Hey, let’s go get Indian food…”

And I was all: “I love your face so much.”

And here is where the good choice comes in…instead of butter chicken (the name should tell you how wonderfully caloric it is) I ordered…

Wait for it…you will see.

First, a somosa.

Just one!

Oh yeah…and these weird chip things.

With onion stuff!

I HAD TANDOORI SHRIMP INSTEAD OF BUTTER CHICKEN.

I AM A CHAMPION OF HEALTH.

Look at all that health.

Oh yeah, and some garlic naan and rice…but whatever. Focus on the lack of creamy butter sauce.

All the taste.

And THAT was Friday.
