Tuesday was a pretty excellent food day. I didn’t really have breakfast, but brunch, the first course of which was a slice of cold pizza.
The real meal was this baby kale and lentil salad with rasher bacon, topped with a duck egg.
I wrote some words, and then left my house around 4:30 to make it to my basic bird butchery class with the Portland Meat Collective. I grabbed a cappuccino at Bushel & Peck before class.
The class was awesome and informative (though I was the slowest when it came to the actual butchery), and we got to eat a lot of duck once the instructional period was over.
Our practice birds were packaged up for us to take home. and I’m having a hard time decided if I want to try my hand at duck prosciutto or not. (I kind of just want to sear and eat the breasts.)
After class, Redacted and I went to get dessert.
I had more wine.
When I got home, Sean was hungry, so he made mac & cheese. I ate some, because I am a monster.
It was a good food day.
