What Claire Ate: November 15th, 2014

And we are back with a bang. By “with a bang,” I mean “with a lot of food” because this weekend was filled with delicious food.

Saturday, we met our friend Chris (who also moved here from Florida) for a brunch at EastBurn. This place has everything. Swings, sour beer, fire pits in your table, create your own Bloody Mary bar, etc.

Warm your hands and your liver (or something).

I ordered a delicious breakfast sandwich.

With ham AND bacon.

With ham AND bacon.

It fell apart pretty quickly.

After we finished eating, we moved inside to watch the rest of an ill-fated football game. I drank this sour to help with my sadness.

Go bulldogs.

Go bulldogs.

After that, we wandered around Hawthorne, stopping to window shop for coats we couldn’t afford and doughnuts we could.

I got Blue Star’s basic glazed.

Not bad.

Not bad.

It had a little too much cinnamon and not enough yeast for my taste. Sean got the chocolate almond ganache option, and I liked that one a lot.

The chocolate was nice and dark.

After more window shopping, we took our talents to North Portland, where we met up with some friends at Prost.

I had a German beer which was okay.

I don't remember what it was called.

Shared a pretzel with Chris.

And had a toddy.

Around 9 PM, we walked around more to find food and settled on a sushi place that had a happy hour thing going on.

I got some ramen.

Pretty good.

Pretty good.

I added a quail egg because there was an option to add a quail egg.

SO CUTE.

SO CUTE.

I had another toddy, but made Chris drink most of it because my stomach was so full of liquid.

This one was pear flavored, and it was excellent.

I slept very deeply.
