What Claire Ate: November 4th, 2014

Sean went and got us coffee, which I drank with avocado toast.

With lemon because no limes.

With lemon because no limes.

Then I spent the next few hours trying to pitch something to Cosmo.

I’m still not sure I sent it to the right person.

Pitched some more things, doubted my worth as a writer/human etc., started writing a new thing and felt vaguely better.

Lunch was some leftover fried rice and an egg.

And diluted cranberry juice.

And diluted cranberry juice.

I did some laundry and other mundane tasks — and some more writing — and then got ready to go out for dinner/ice cream/meeting one of my favorite internet people irl.

Supper was Little Big Burger.

Not bad, not bad at all.

Not bad, not bad at all.

The truffle fries were good but they would have been better if they were just regular fries. I’m very over truffle oil tbch.

But very well fried, they were.

But very well fried, they were.

Ice cream was obtained from Salt and Straw. I got a scoop of the Salted Caramel Thanksgiving Turkey and a scoop of the Pear and Blue Cheese. Both were very tasty (the turkey provided a vague sense of umami but wasn’t overpowering) but my favorite was Pear and Blue Cheese.

A+++++

OH AND GUESS WHO JOINED US FOR ICE CREAM?

GEMMA CORRELL.

A+++ human.

A+++ human.

Both Gemma and her husband, Anthony, are as delightful and charming as this, which is saying a lot.

All in all, it was a very good day.
