AND WE’RE BACK.
We’ve landed in the Pacific Northwest and are staying with a friend while we look for a place of our own. So far I am really liking all the cold and gloom; it’s nice to not have to worry about getting a sunburn while walking to my car.
First meal in Portland was this plate of amazing from a stall at the Portland farmer’s market.
The vegetables may have been a little nontraditional, but they were delicious.
I bought a cherry lemonade from a separate stall.
We walked down to the river to look at the bridges and the Saturday Market.
Then we walked to Powell’s.
I got coffee.
I also bought Amy Poehler’s book.
My throat had been feeling scratchy all day, but now I was starting to feel a little feverish, so we headed back home and I mostly did this for the rest of the day:
I watched Chopped and made a turkey sandwich.
I ate some of my friends leftover Halloween candy.
Much later, Sean picked us up some Thai food.
Most of that is still in the fridge.
So that was the first day.
I’m very excited to be here and very overwhelmed with all the things to eat. First on my list is this place.
