What Claire Ate: September 16th, 2014

Wow. What a weekend.

But the fun wasn’t quite over.

I had the chance to feed the foreigners one more time, so we breakfasted at Lenny’s, a local diner with a lot of character (and Benedicts).

They give everyone at the table a free pastry basket.

I dug out the little square of cake and cheese danish.

Don’t worry about eating all of them; the waitress will give you a baggy to take the rest home.

I ordered the chicken and waffles benedict because MONDAYS.

Oh yeah and cheese grits.

Oh yeah and cheese grits.

I ate exactly half of the benedict and about a third of the grits. I let Natalie and Chris try some of each. They did not get the grits, but that’s okay.

After breakfast, they drove off to finish their holiday, and I somehow managed to write a thing.

Most of the day I just ate the British candy Natalie brought over.

FAVORITES.

FAVORITES.

I had told Natalie that I wanted a “Golden Crumble.” It took us a while to figure out that what I actually wanted was a Crunchie bar.

I never ate another proper meal. Just snacks like Goldfish.

And more British candy.

It's what inside the wrapper that will astound you.

WHAT SORCERY.

WHAT SORCERY.

I also ate some puffy Cheetos that Natalie had left behind (not pictured).

I got in bed fairly early and just as I was all comfortable I started to feel hungry. I found a KIND bar on my bedside table and ate half of it.

This is what a KIND bar looks like lit by the glow of Doctor Who.

That wasn’t cutting it, so I texted Sean and requested that he bring up an apple he came to bed.

I have no picture, because it was dark, but he made a little face in it just like Amy Pond does in her first episode.

He’s very good at what he does.
