Eating, Sweets, what claire ate

What Claire Ate: August 13th, 2014

Wow. It’s been a while, huh? I’ve been traveling, and when I travel I tend to not do this blog. No one pays me to do this blog, so it’s the first thing to be dropped if I get at all busy.

I’ve been kind of busy.

Anyway, let’s talk food.

Breakfast was toast with homemade cultured butter and nutritional yeast.

Always with yeast.

Always with yeast.

Lunch was coffee and macarons, I guess?

The macarons were from Chocolate Pi, a bakery located across the street from Bern’s Steakhouse, adjacent to The Epicurean (the food-themed hotel also owned by Bern’s).

After consuming these delightful cookies, my sister and I went to the happy hour at The Epicurean’s hotel bar, Elevage.

Dith got a couple of cocktails, I ordered an iced tea, and we split the escargot risotto and deviled eggs.

The risotto was excellent. The snails were perfectly cooked and tender. The garlic foam was delicious. My only complaint is the rice seemed sliiiiiightly under-cooked. Just slightly.

The deviled eggs were disappointing. Way too much mustard. I barely detected any egg yolk, just grainy, spicy mustard.

So it was a mixed bag.

We went home and picked up Sean for some grocery shopping. While at Publix, I finally caved and bought the new wasabi and ginger Lays.

They were perfect.

I put them on a tuna sandwich.

It was pretty good too.

We had some popcorn, but I forgot to take a photo of that.

We watched Tangled.

I ate this ice cream sandwich.

It was a good day.
