Pinterest Experiment 1: Two Ingredient Pumpkin Cake

Except I made it THREE ingredient (four if you count the splash of beer I added) pumpkin cake!

The inspiration comes from these two pins:

Pumpkin Cake Pin!

…and this magic!

So let’s do this thang…

Starting materials:

Also, this:

Sorry I don’t have my face on…

Because it’s SEASONAL and I LOVE IT. So I have to drink AS MUCH AS I CAN.

That’s not true.

It’s kinda true.

Grease yourself some Pyrex.

Like buttah…I mean, it IS butter.

Looking at my starting materials, I was pretty dubious that I would attain a viscosity appropriate for baking.

I’m skeptical.

Kinda clumpy.

The only real problem I had was the mix clumping together…I should have sifted that stuff…but don’t worry…I fixed it by adding a little of the aforementioned seasonal miracle that is Shipyard Pumpkinhead.

Once the beer did it’s magic (really, what can’t beer do?…Math…beer cannot do math), I spread it in the pan and swirled in some Nutella…

There are still a few little clumps…grr. arg.

I mean just look at it.

Hey, Sailor.

This cake is amazing. It is fluffy. It is moist. It is pumpkiny…

I love it so hard.

She’s sooooo pretty.

A word about the Nutella:

It forms a magical sugary crust on top, yet retains its creamy texture underneath…there is no need to frost this bitch.

In summation…

The actual recipe:

-1 box spice cake mix

-1 can pumpkin

-1/2 a jar of Nutella

Combine mix and pumpkin, put in greased pan, swirl Nutella on top…

And pop that ho in a preheated oven set at 350 F for 25-30 mins.

You’re welcome world, you are welcome.

P.S. Makes 12 servings @ 265 calories per serving…without Nutella it’s 181.67 calories per serving…put why in the name of all that is sacred would you leave out the Nutella?
