Listen guys…it’s really complicated between myself and Pinterest.
I love it so hard…but then I see things likes “75 uses for baby powder!” and “Organize your whole house with coat-hangers!” and “Cheesecake made with avocados! Half the fat! All the taste!”
…and I try them. BECAUSE WHY WOULD SOMEONE PIN IT IF IT WEREN’T THE TRUTH.
Guys…I have to believe in something…
So when my sister pinned this “detox bath” containing ginger, hydrogen peroxide, and Amy Adams…I had to try it.
I had to guys…last weekend I ate/drank ALL OF THE EVER-LOVING THINGS.
Some dubious claims include “oxygenation of the body”…am I being coated in metal? Will I end up with a patina on me? What is being oxidized? My skin? What is my current oxidation state? Probably 2+…am I going to 4+?
So many questions.
I do think that ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory though…yay.
ANYWAY. I did what they said and sat in the bath for over half an hour. I think I used too much peroxide and not enough ginger…they want you to use 2 oz, which is all the ginger I had and what if I needed to BAKE SOMETHING? Priorities people…priorities.
Anyway…I felt tingly and hotter than usual and the water stayed hot FOREVER. I did sweat, but no more than usual for a hot bath…
I also did a face mask…multi-tasking.
Wow…that is terrifying…I am sorry.
So…did it work? Eh…I felt really relaxed afterwards…my skin did feel really sensitive in the shower though…almost like a sunburn.
Now I just feel kinda achey…maybe I didn’t get all of the toxins and now they are angry?
YAY SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS!
UPDATE: I slept really well (but I always do) and when I woke up my allergies were going gangbusters (which could be related or not?). Now I feel normalish.
