What to do with all of your Christmas candy?

Because just eating it seems juvenile? Also, I feel bloated, guys.

I know everyone has a lot of candy left over from the holidaze. I do. I also had a giant bag of Tempting Trail Mix that my dear friend, Amy, shipped to me from the land of Trader Joe’s (read: somewhere that is not Florida).

It’s just so gooooood.

Anyway, if you find yourself faced with a bunch of stuff you shouldn’t eat, you do this: bake it into a cookie and make it somebody else’s problem.

I got this idea/recipe from Martha Stalwart (love this blog, but that girl makes me feel lazy…I mean, she makes her own jerky…I’m humbled).

Basic Dough 

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 sticks butter, softened

1 large egg

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt (if you are using salted butter, you might want to back off of this a bit)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Heat your oven to 375, mix your dry, mix your butter/sugars/egg until light and fluffy, add dry to wet, add your candy/anything else you want and bake for 7-8 mins. DO NOT OVER-BAKE THEY WILL BE SOFT WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OUT DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT.

Then eat one cookie, give two to your husband and give the rest away. Done and done.

 

Hello, noms.

 

 

Do not give one to your dog. Nuts and chocolate are bad for them…and raisins…those are bad too.
